Mendoza Partida Arquitectos, the studio behind the project for the new Museum of Prehistory and Archaeology of Cantabria (MUPAC), has selected MOAH Arquitectos as the local architectural firm to collaborate in the construction management of the museum.
The building, promoted by the Government of Cantabria, will have a surface area of more than 20,000 m2 distributed between the museum and administrative offices. The construction aspires to become one of the emblems of the city, not only for its content, which will highlight the vast and valuable archaeological heritage of the region, but also for its container: an imposing structure that will leave a lasting impression on the viewer, while integrating with subtlety and sensitivity in the environment.

The works are being executed by Dragados, one of the world's leading companies in the construction of large civil, industrial and transport infrastructures.
In addition, the Sociedad Regional de Cultura y Deporte has appointed the multinational Bovis, part of CBRE, as Project Manager to oversee the development of the project during the construction, fitting out and commissioning phases of the building.
The MUPAC works are expected to be completed in early 2026 and the building is expected to open its doors to the public towards the end of the same year.
